the sojourn: Day 8

Today was our last day at earthlodge before we meet our mission trip group. We woke up pretty early and watched the sun come up over the mountains and fill the valley with its golden warmth. One of the local cats came and joined me in my hammock for a little while which was nice. After everyone got up we all ordered breakfast and enjoyed one last morning together. We realized that the mission trip group would not be getting into Antigua until about 7pm so we had most of the day to relax. After a few hours of darts and ping-pong with Tom and Brian we thought it was time to rest again, so we did, because we could;) Erika went to take a shower while I started packing up the tent and getting our stuff ready which only took about 20 minutes, then I went for a shower. By 2 we were ready to go and just waiting for our truck to pick us up at 4. We spend the last two hours getting in last minute conversations and exchanging information with each other. We finally took a big group photo with Me, Erika, Tom, Brian, Lucy, Max, Tim, Estrid, YoYo and Ilor, then we were off to wait for the truck. When we got to the top of the hill where the truck picks us up there were two local kids who wanted me to take a picture of them, so I took one and then they wanted another, and another and another until 30min had passed and the truck finally arrived. When we got down to Antigua we had a few hours before the group arrived so we walked around town and bought a few things for the rest of the trip. We eventually made it to the hotel where we were staying, which is very excessive compared to where we had been staying, and awaited the arrival of the group. Everybody eventually got here and since many of them had never been to central america they were a little loud but thats neither here nor there so I will keep my opinions to myself. We ate a very lavish meal and then headed off to bed.
